Athan Goulos
Athan has been playing golf since he was 8 years of age. He was first introduced to the game of golf by his grandfather Dr. John Parianos. Athan played in junior amateur tournaments throughout middle school and high school. He also competed in long drive competitions across the country. Athan placed 2nd in the country in the 2006 Re-Max Junior World Long Drive Championship at the age of 11 years old with a 294-yard drive in Dallas Texas. After competing in the Junior Long Drive Championships from 2005-2008, he then started to compete in the open division with an age group from 16-50 years of age up until the age of 16. He qualified for regional qualifying in Pennsylvania with a 365-yard drive in 2011.
After making the commitment to focus solely on competitive golf, Athan walked on as a Freshman at Saint Leo University in Florida, a nationally ranked division II golf program in 2013. Saint Leo won the 2016 NCAA Division II National Championship in Denver Colorado. He then finished up his academic career at Endicott College in Beverly, MA. Recruited to play on Endicott’s golf team, Athan was named 2016 CCC Golfer of the Year, 2017 Ping All Region (North-East), and 2016 Division III All New England player of the year. He helped lead his team as a captain to the 2017 NCAA Division III Championship at Mission Inn in Howey-in-the-hills, Florida.
After graduating college in 2018, Athan spent his winters in Tampa, Florida playing in Mini Tour Events across West Florida on The West Florida Golf Tour. He placed t13 (medalist as an amateur) at the 2020 WFGT Ritz Carlton Series with a 1 under 71. Due to a wrist injury, Athan’s path for professional golf was put on hold in 2020.
Athan then realized that he wanted to take the next chapter in his golf career and start teaching. Athan has been taught directly under Jim McLean in Miami Florida in his teenage years, Scott Reilly at The Country Club in High School, Adam Kolloff his senior year of college, and Nick Arthur at The Ritz Carlton Members Club in Sarasota, Florida since playing semiprofessionally.
Having met so many influential instructors throughout his golfing career, Athan is extremely excited to transfer his love and knowledge of the game to anyone looking to get better at golf, no matter what skill level.
